How to choose a wedding photographer
Wedding photography is an important part of the wedding. Capturing this special day is something that many couples value greatly. There are different styles of wedding photography: an authentic, non-posed style and a posed style. In this article, we will take a closer look at different aspects of wedding photography, including price, duration, the responsibilities of a wedding photographer and what to consider when choosing a photographer.
Price of a wedding photographer
The price of a wedding photographer varies widely, depending on several factors such as the photographer's experience and reputation, the number of hours of photography and the products or services requested. The cost per hour for a wedding photographer can range from €80 to €500 or more, while a daily rate for a photographer can range from €1500 to €5000 or more.
Duration of a wedding photography
The number of hours required for photography at a wedding varies greatly and depends on the couple's schedule and specific needs. On average, photography at a wedding takes 8 to 10 hours, but this can be extended to 12 hours or more, depending on the specific needs.
Responsibilities of a wedding photographer
A wedding photographer is responsible for capturing all the important moments during the wedding, both formal and informal. This includes photographing the preparations, ceremony, party and group photos. A good wedding photographer must have an eye for detail and the ability to respond quickly to changes and challenges that may arise on the day.
How many photos can a wedding photographer take
This depends on the arrangements you make with the photographer, the length of the wedding day and how much action there is. On average, I shoot between 12000 and 16000 images on a full 16-hour wedding day. After the selection there remain about 750 to 1200 images
Expectations regarding the number of photos from a wedding photographer
Discuss expectations about the number of photos clearly with the photographer before you enter into an agreement. Also ask if a limited number of photos will be provided or if you will have access to all the photos taken. Keep in mind that some photos may not be used because they do not meet quality standards. As a wedding photographer, I do not impose a quota, I make sure a beautiful story can be told.
What to consider when choosing a wedding photographer
When choosing a wedding photographer, it is important to consider the style and quality of the photographs they take. Check out the photographer's portfolio and see if his or her style matches what you are looking for. It is also advisable to read references and reviews from previously married couples who have used the wedding photographer's services.
Important factors to consider when choosing a photographer
In addition to the style and quality of the photos, it is important to consider how the photographer communicates and works with the bride and groom. It is nice if the photographer is flexible and considers your needs and expectations. The availability and professionalism of the photographer are also important factors to consider.

However, capturing one of the most important days in a person's life requires more than just technical skills. Fantastic wedding in Genk, at Hangar C.
Getting married in Genk and Borgloon, Ilse and Thomas
Ilse and Thomas had been looking forward to it for so long, and finally the time had come: on May 27, 2023, they got married. They wanted their wedding day to be perfect, and it absolutely was! It was a beautiful spring day, with bright sunshine and a lovely breeze.
They started the day with the official ceremony in Genk, together with their closest family and best friends. It was an intimate and warm moment, filled with love and happiness. Then they headed to the enchanting Doorkijkkerkje in Borgloon for a romantic photo shoot.
Then it was time for the festive ceremony in Hangar C. There were some speakers who were very close to their hearts, and their emotional speeches caused many tears of happiness. It was a beautiful and personal ceremony in which Ilse and Thomas felt that they were meant for each other.
And then it was time to party! Double D, an awesome live cover band, created a great atmosphere. The dance floor was filled with joy and everyone danced all night long while enjoying great food and delicious drinks.
Ilse and Thomas look back on their wedding day with a huge smile. It was without a doubt the most beautiful day of their lives. They are so grateful that everything went perfectly and that they could share this unforgettable day with their precious family and friends. It is a memory they will keep in their hearts forever.
They received their preview last weekend, the top 100 from their wedding day. Are you enjoying?
Getting married in Vilvoorde, Dimka and Jonathan
Getting married in Vilvoorde, Dimka and Jonathan
My last wedding of 2020. I ended my year with this beautiful, small-scale, multicultural wedding 😍 She is Bulgarian, he Belgian, 6 years of happiness and 3 languages. They met in a cafe near Brussels and they decided to get married last minute because of Covid-19.
During the wedding, I was pleasantly surprised. The switching between languages was phenomenal.
I first met Dimka when she got out of the car at City Hall. She smiled, said hello, I noticed a good vibe that we can also see in the photos.... she kept smiling 95% of the time! And for Jonathan, it was almost impossible not to smile.
Keep scrolling and check out the little slideshow!
Dimka and Jonathan thank you for having me at your wedding!
Lovely wedding at Wijnegem Castle.
Getting married in Wijnegem and Mechelen, Laure-ann and Jelle
It all started at first call, being half knocked over by a white wolf. Wonderful to be welcomed by a fantastic four-legged friend! Unfortunately they couldn't take Bella with them, she would go absolutely crazy and run everyone a little bit over with enthusiasm.
Enjoy the beautiful recap, Laure-Ann and Jelle's funniest memories.
Ps: Did you know that Mechelen's Church of Our Lady was so beautiful?
Getting married in Antwerp, Nina and Joeri
Getting married in Antwerp, Nina and Joeri
Through Manou of Visioned, Nina and Joeri came to me. We had no preliminary conversations; it was a form of blind date with me as the photographer.
I was literally given 1 hour off, in the most beautiful hotel in Antwerp, Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp. The pictures speak for themselves, it was a breathtaking wedding, Ago's in Wilrijk of course also played a big part in the story.
